The funeral of My Mister and Parasite actor Lee Sun-kyun, who committed fatal suicide earlier this week, was held in Seoul on Friday.

The 48-year-old star’s body was found near Waryong Park in Seoul’s central Jongno area around 10:30 pm on Wednesday.

Police said a charcoal briquette was found in the passenger chair, suggesting Lee may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, although the exact cause of death has not yet been determined.

TMZ reported that two days later, a large group of mourners, many of whom were crying, followed her carrying her coffin in a hearse.

The New York Post said his tearful wife Jeon Hye-jin, who married him in 2009, took his final actor portrait as they stood holding his portrait with one of their young sons in hand.
A funeral service took place at the funeral home of Seoul National University Hospital.

It is expected that his body will be cremated and his remains will be placed in a memorial park in Gwangju.

At the time of his death, Lee was under police investigation for using marijuana and ketamine, which are illegal in the country.

She strongly denied the allegations, but she lost her role in the upcoming drama ‘No Way Out’.
