If the New England Patriots decide to part ways with head coach Bill Belichick, Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel may be interested in the job.

According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, Vrabel and the Titans will discuss his future with the team this week, but the head coach is “interested in the idea of returning to the Patriots” as head coach if the position opens up.

There have been a lot of rumors and speculation about Vrabel wanting to move on from Tennessee. A common theme in those rumors is that Vrabel may be unhappy with general manager Ryan Carthon.

Even if the two sides agree to part ways, the Titans are unlikely to let Vrabel out of his contract. Ultimately, he could make a significant return to Tennessee as one of the most respected head coaches in the league.
And that’s because that’s especially true in New England, where he spent eight years of his NFL career, winning three Super Bowls.

As long as there’s a definite return on the trade, history suggests the Titans could get at least a first-round pick, which would be a big addition considering the enormous amount of work Tennessee has to do to right the ship.
